Factors Affecting Learners’ Academic Success in Online Liberal Arts Courses Offered by a Traditional Korean University

This study aimed to empirically examine the factors affecting full-time undergraduate students’ satisfaction and academic performance measured by grades using an existing large administrative dataset. The sample consisted of 21,662 students who took online liberal arts courses offered a traditional Korean university in spring semester 2020. theoretical framework this was formulated selectively adopting slightly modifying some from Choi’s conceptual model for adult dropout degree programs. findings indicated that gender, previous GPA, campus, type course, relevance adequacy assignments assessments, learner-instructor interaction, learner-content interaction significantly affect with courses. also found considered course less relevant their goals or interests, had low frequent interactions, few level are more likely earn grade B, C, lower than receive A
